"Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Kalyanpuri is a busy government hospital serving a large number of patients from Delhi and nearby NCR areas. Most general and specialist services are available, except neurology. Earlier, patients could buy unavailable medicines from outside and claim reimbursement, but that option has now been stopped — now they simply say it’s not available. The hospital has introduced online registration for OPD, which is convenient. The emergency department is useful, especially for nearby residents needing urgent care during the day. However, if someone needs to be admitted in the emergency ward, the experience can be frustrating — doctors are rarely present inside and only visit during rounds. Nurses and ward boys are often the only staff visible. In serious cases, the hospital tends to avoid taking responsibility and may refer the patient elsewhere. It’s better suited for small emergencies and regular OPD visits. Like every government hospital, there are both good and bad doctors — hospital management needs to ensure more accountability."

"Absolutely govt hospital. I visited here on 12th July 2025 approx 12.30PM. The crowd was medium. Registration counters closed. Please do not fall in trap there is no online appointment facility like AIIMS or Safdarjung, I have taken appointments through the Delhi govt facility but this was not worked there. Registration counter open 7.30AM to 12PM Only Monday to Saturday. On Saturday it's closed at 11.30AM. I will definitely edit this review after check the facility and the doctor's behavior. "I repeatedly informed Dr. Kanchan_ that this was an orthopedic and neurosurgery emergency. Despite this, there was no response or timely action. The lack of urgency, professionalism, and basic respect toward a critical patient situation is unacceptable. This delay could have seriously compromised patient safety. I am submitting this complaint so that appropriate action and accountability can be ensured."

"POSITIVE SIDE👍 1.) A good and old hospital in this area which covers all east Delhi population 2.) They have best doctors, and doctors are really good, they behave so good and gave proper satisfaction to patient and listen so carefully all the matters. 3.) Most of the time they prescribed good medicine which is easily available in the hospital and outside also. 4.) OPD has lots of departments, You can get treatment for many diseases here 5.) Skin department, surgery department, ENT department and dental department is so good 6.) This is the only hospital in East Delhi after GTB hospital, which have lots of medical fecilities. NEGATIVE SIDE 👎 1.) Infrastructure is so bad, hospital building is so old and need new buildings and infrastructure 2.) So much rush and Queue for OPD 3.) There is always a big queue for new OPD registration 4.) Non doctor staff is so rude and useless 5.) They have very small space for parking two wheelers. 6.)There is a risk of the vehicle being stolen if you park it outside the hospital. 7.) To get medicine one has to stand in a very long queue which takes at least 1 to 1.5 hours. 8.) Some guards take bribe from people to get their work done quickly and give them full medicines due to which the work of other people gets delayed."

"The vaccination facility and emergency services are good. But the staff are not well behaved and polite. There seems to be a very long line for medicine, according to me, there should be some improvement in this, otherwise everything is fine."
